A peaceful way to end my trip. Well-kept rooms with balcony, well placed desk and good pillows, adequate breakfast. Lovely design, efficient service in the entire hotel. Bistro bar and clean pool.

The staff was very attentive. The onsite restaurtant was incredible for breakfast. Food and service was exceptional. Enjoyed the historic feel of the hotel and the beauty of the front lobby. A nice change from your typical chain hotels.

Would not consider "immediate" location the best - trailer parks, seedy residential surroundings. However "general" location is central to activities in San Jose. On the immediate grounds of the estate, it is simply lovely and you feel apart from the surrounding neighborhood. In addition, you are under the flight path of the nearby airport. Noticeable in the daytime when at the pool but no issues when in room/sleeping.

Breakfast buffet is a total win, with fresh berries and creative options like mushroom omelettes! Plus, the grounds are fine, perfect for a chill day by the pool.

Getting lost is real here! The layout is a maze with two buildings and confusing hallways-definitely needs better signage.

The first night was disrupted by loud neighbors, but a peaceful second night made up for it. Extra pillows were a nice touch, enhancing our comfort significantly.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. We explored the public spaces of the mansion at will and were interested in learning the history of the place. The grounds were well maintained and very spacious. The mansion is an island within a city. If we are every in San Jose again, we will return.

The facility was beautiful. It had a great gym (except for 2 out of order treadmills), nice pool area & comfy beds. The restaurant had great service & a descent breakfast buffet.

The location is a little out of the way but we felt was worth it. The service could use some help. They had no pool side service. The pool was not maintained throughout the day. It was nice in the mornings and a wreck by afternoon. They ran out of towels. I notified front desk that they needed more pool towels. They said they would bring some out but never did. After waiting 40 minutes in the hot tub for a towel and shriveling up like a prune. I decided I better just get out and head for the room like a sobbing wet rat. This was not good since it was night and a little brisk!

Staff at checkout was unprofessional. We had only been charged 1 night when we actually stayed 2 and wanted to rectify it. Woman at desk did not say thank you for spending time doing this, just mentioned that it was amistake that would have been caught. As well, we mentioned that it was a it disarming to receive an email earlier stating our reservation had been cancelled. Once again, woman at desk completely minimized it, stating it was just a computer error. How are we supposed to know that based on a cancellation email?Facilities and rooms were nice staff at checkout fell short .

We explored the fine Japanese Friendship Garden and the exciting Monterey Bay Aquarium. The activities available at the mansion kept us entertained.

I did ask for a microwave, but it was broken when they finally brought it. That was a bit of a letdown when I really needed it.

Beautiful grounds and beautiful mansion. The outside bar area was a great space for great food and drinks.

The grounds are beautiful. There were several events there while I was there including a wedding. The brunch buffet was amazing. The pool and spa outdoors were really beautiful and perfect temperature. The room was nice and quiet.

There were a few obnoxious guests who practically took over the pool area during the weekend who brought their cooler full of beer with them to the pool, uncool. Plus there were so many private parties and events the dinning/restaurant was closed three of the four times I tried to go.
